Where is home?

20 April 2007

We've had a very nice request for help from Stephanie, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sunderland with a research interest in football & football supporters. She's working on a study of the way in which 'home' is defined by football supporters; and what role their stadium plays in constructing that concept. Participation involves a brief survey which includes items that address the meaning of the stadium to supporters and their attachment to it, and participants will also be asked to indicate how much they are affiliated with the football team and about other places that can be considered 'home'. The entire survey should take approximately 15 minutes and is anonymous.

Although it's independent of any football club, she's very interested in the views of West Brom supporters because of the historical significance of the Hawthorns, and in other surveys she's conducted supporters of other clubs have named it as one of the best for atmosphere in the country. Ok, so maybe they haven't been there in the last few weeks...

Anyway, if you'd like to take part in the survey, just follow this link: Supporter Perceptions of Home Grounds
