Ticket price shock!

02 March 2007

Albion have surprised most supporters by announcing reductions in season ticket prices for next season - regardless of whether they achieve promotion or not. The new prices will be held until the end of May, after when they may be reviewed. Adult prices have fallen by between 13% and 19%, while the first 1500 kids tickets will be sold for only ?49, at least ?100 off the current levels. The changes mean that an adult season ticket at either end of the ground will cost just ?349 - which means a little over ?15 a game if we stay in the Championship or ?18 a game if we get promoted.

The Club explain the reason for the reduction as as a combination of the desire to get back some of the 30% of season ticket holders lost through relegation and the economic conditions faced by many supporters in the West Midlands. It also coincides with several campaigns being run by the media and supporters groups nationally to bring down the cost of football, especially in the light of the large increases in TV revenue that will apply next season.
