Horsfield for Gregan?

07 December 2003

Rumours circulating over the weekend have Albion linked with ex-Birmingham and now Wigan Athletic striker Geoff Horsfield, while Wigan themselves are said to be lining up a bid for Albion skipper Sean Gregan.

Horsfield only joined Wigan earlier this season for half a million, while Gregan cost us two million from Preston over a year earlier - so if there is any chance of a swap deal, it would surely involve some cash as well.

At the club's AGM, Gary Megson admitted that Horsfield was "one that slipped through the net" when he moved from Birmingham, and has shown an interest in him in the past. Although it seems strange for him to move again so quickly, he is understood to be unhappy at Wigan and still living in the Midlands. However, any move would have to wait until he recovers from his current injury.
