Wallwork Signs!

01 July 2002

Ronnie Wallwork has joined West Bromwich Albion on a three year contract, with a one year extension option. Wallwork is 24 and a graduate of the Football Association's National School of Excellence, and has represented Manchester United in the Premiership, the FIFA World Club Championship, the UEFA Champions' League, the FA Cup and the Worthington Cup - and won a Premiership winners' medal with them in the 2000/2001 season. He joins on a free transfer under the Bosman ruling.

Meanwhile, local news has announced that John Wile will be leaving the club. Albion expect to announce his replacements in the very near future, with Wile's former team-mate Brendan Batson looking certain to leave his PFA job and take on the role of Managing Director, with responsibility for all football-related issues. A candidate has been identified for the Chief Executive's job but has yet to be announced.
