FA Cup: Dates and Information

10 March 2008

Albion will face Portsmouth in the FA Cup Semi-finals, with Barnsley meeting Cardiff in the other one. The game will take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 5th April and will kick off at 12:15 to be broadcast live on BBC1 TV. The other semi-final, between Barnsley and Cardiff, kicks off the following day at 4pm.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday 13th March through the Official Web Site - but only to current season ticket holders, one per person. After a few days of online-only sales, the ticket office will accept telephone bookings from season ticket holders while members will be able to book online as well. After another few days, members will be able to book by telephone and after a week or so the remaining tickets will go on sale through Ticketmaster to supporters registered on the club's database.

Note that the online ticket system has been significantly upgraded in the last few weeks, so you may find that your old password doesn't work any more - full details of the changes and the selling dates are on the official site.

Getting There and Staying There

"I have written an article on West Brom's upcoming semi Final with Portsmouth at Wembley", gushes David Dean enthusiastically. "It contains information on travel to London and where to stay along with transport information for people arriving in London by car, train or bus. I was hoping that you would put a link to it on your site as it is useful to West Brom supporters going to London for the match. You can find our article at the web address below."

A lucky omen?

We beat Portsmouth on our way to winning the cup in 1968 and also in 1931 when we went on to do the famous (and only) promotion and cup double. As now, Pompey were a top flight club.

We have played them 4 times, 1931, 1939, 1956 and 1968. The only time Pompey have won was in 1939 and they too went on to win the cup.
