RIP A little piece of history...

08 May 2009

Thanks to Dave Baxendale for spotting a story connected to one of Albion's all time records. Our highest ever recorded win was 12-0 against Darwen, now of the Vodkat League (aka the North West Counties Football League). However, it seems they've just become the latest casualty of the financial squeeze facing many clubs and have officially ceased football activities and withdrawn from the League following a winding-up order.

For the full statement from the club, visit the Vodkat League Web Site and scroll down to the news for 7th May. It's sad to see the end of a club that's been going for 134 years and our best wishes go out to all those connected with it.
