Summary:

Before the game, Tony Pulis warned travelling supporters that there would be a lot of changes fro this League Cup tie, but added that "I will still put out what I consider to be a strong team and I am desperate to win the game - I think I've already shown that I have a commitment and respect to cup competitions". In fact, only Craig Dawson kept his place from Saturday's win at Villa Park, with many of those starting that game omitted from the squad altogether and four youngsters not even listed as part of the official squad being given places on the bench.

After a goalless first half, former Wolves winger Matt Jarvis gave Norwich the lead just after the hour mark when he was given too much space down the left and fired home from a tight angle. Substitute Kyle Lafferty doubled their score with five minutes left before driving the final nail into Albion's League Cup coffin in added time.

In fairness, the result didn't truly reflect the balance of play with Albion having a few chances to get a result - but it's all that will be remembered.
