Last week I said there was no way we could sit back against the likes of Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal and get away with it. Well that's why Pulis is manager and I'm sitting on the sofa drinking beer.

What a fantastic performance that was. Not pretty for sure, but in terms of discipline, effort and sheer guts it was impressive. Myhill and Mac were massive, but the whole team deserve credit for their backs to the wall defence. Whilst not mathematically safe it would take an unbelievable set of results to see us relegated, so I thinks it's fair to say 'job well done Pulis.' For now, that is.

It would be hard to watch that kind of nail biting performance for 38 matches next season, so let's hope we make some smart signings in the summer.

Finally, great to hear our couple of thousand fans out singing the Manure rabble. Well done lads!

Mark Koppel:

Simply overjoyed about this victory. Not sure we will see many glory hunting Man Utd Shirts out today, that is even if they know what the score was.

I think the way Pulis deals with injuries (this time Player Of The Season Morrison), and adapts the Team, reminds me of Megson at his best. The difference is that Pulis is doing this at Premier League level and not just in the Championship.

  • Myhill 10 - Goes down as one of the top 4 Goalkeeping performances I have seen in 47 years of watching the Albion. The others I remember are Osborne at Chelsea in the FA Cup 1969, Foster away at Liverpool when we won, Hoult at home to Villa when we drew 0-0.
  • Dawson 8 - Won everything, especially when the ball went in the air.
  • McAuley 7 - Blocked everything and didn't have the dreaded responsibility of passing forward.
  • Lescott 8 - Often last man, got in some vital clearances.
  • Olsson 8 - His best performance of the season and a deft touch for the goal. So pleased for him as he has been a great servant for this Club.
  • Brunt 8 - Who would have thought it but he has been brilliant in the last 3 games, this time in front of Lescott
  • Yacob 8 - Not normally his greatest fan but tackled and blocked really well today. Really good to see him stand up to Rooney both physically and verbally.
  • Mulumbu 5 - The weakest of the midfield today and gave the ball away 2/3 times in very dangerous areas. Not sure he has the pace anymore at this level.
  • Fletcher 8 - Didn't tire second half this week and was there at the heart of defensive midfield throughout
  • Gardner 7 - Worked really hard, just needs to be careful with his challenges in the penalty area. Got away with it against Palace and today.
  • Saido 7 - Worked really hard, including in his defensive duties. Very little to live off when you only have 20% possession and then mostly in your own half.

Subs:

  • Baird 7 - Did his defensive duties as if on from the start to his credit. When great header away with 5 mins to go.
  • Brown 6 - As per Saido
  • Wisdom 4 - One miskicked clearance was his contribution.
